A preterm baby came to my hospital with distress respiratory problem. Most likely it was due to hyaline membrane disease, a common cause of respiratory disorder in preterm babies. I found out that the mother didn’t want this baby so during the first trimester she tried to do abortion by consuming drugs. Nevertheless, the baby survived until she was born. But now the condition is decreasing. I have talked to the mother about the condition but “somehow” she didn’t seem to care. She even barely visited her child. Her grandmother came today and said that they were “ready” if the child died. Ready? or don’t care at all?! Don’t they realise that they are actually killing a human being slowly?
I wonder whether animals also have cases of unwanted children as well?

ReplyDeleteWell, I know it looks really bad. Many reason we don't know. Maybe she has the baby by accident, somebody raped her, a taxi driver raped her, a bad boyfriend did it, and many things.
But the idea she doesn't want it, tell us, she's careless and too young to understand her duty as the agent of life for next generation.
Beside the baby, I feel sorry for her as well. Hope she won't feel despair when she grows up. I believe her deepest heart always judge her, till the rest of her life.
Can you imagine, how's the feeling to be judged by your heart 'till the rest of the life. It would be a miserable life. Poor woman.......
