About us

We are 2 souls that are supposed to be twins, but not destined to be. We are 2 souls who were looking for our passions and found them in this blog. And this is our stories, when 2 souls become one. All pictures in this blog are our original work unless stated otherwise.

Fleurs

Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.  ~Henry Beecher, Life Thoughts, 1858

Non attachment

I still find it hard to say goodbye to most people -or anything. My mom (who's a dentist) said farewell is like pulling out a toothache, it hurts and needs to be done, but will heal later.

So...

Now...I am pulling my guts to say goodbye and let my heart in peace

Against the reality

Often we don’t want to face with reality because it seems bitter than what we expect. Then we create things to cover the reality so that people will accept it. So that we look “beautiful” on other people’s eyes. And if we don’t do that, we will be just some outcasts. Sadly, I live in a culture like that.

When will the truth be true?

Rainbow in our life

I think we need "rainbow" everyday to lighten our life. Rainbow can be your passion, your kids, someone you love, or for those spiritualists - God. Rainbow is like a booster to drive up energy whenever we feel down. A dew drop in the middle of dessert.
Hence, go and find our own rainbow. Who knows, life can be more colourful

Never stay in Hotel de Ville

When you are in France, never book a room in Hotel de Ville. They will never give you a room.

Wondering in Kiwi Land

One thing I mostly remember about New Zealand is, of course, the sheep.

Wanted a SLR camera....

Okay I may not have a SLR camera at the moment (which I desperately want!), but I am contented with my Panasonic Lumix FZ8 (at the moment). The good part of this camera is that it's easy and slightly better than a pocket camera. But the bad part is that it has noise when the light is little. Regardless, I just feel happy with what I have. This picture is my first experiment with this camera.

Hmm....I am hoping a SLR camera will fall down from the sky for me

Meditate

So this was a place where the Sultans of Jogjakarta did their meditation ages ago. The place was humid and dark (I almost had my asthma attack). My husband said that the place sent shivers down his spine. I didn't think so, instead I took pictures all over the place. Hope nothing "scary" came out of the photos..hehe.

Uncertainty

I meet heaps of kids in my daily life, and I learn a lot from them. When they are happy, they will laugh hard. When they are sad, they will cry. When they are scared, they will scream. Perhaps, it's just an honest way for them to respond this world. World that is full of uncertainties. After all, the only certain in this world is uncertainty (that's what I've learned after studying Epidemiology :p).

Thumbs up

I got excited that finally I captured this man. He barely looked behind his back, and when he did..SHOOT..yes I got him!

Should I give you my bread?

Hmm I like kids. They make me smile. But why they often cry when they see me..huuf!

Another victim

Another "victim" of Mount Merapi eruption, a burnt car. The temperature got super hot (>100 C) so glasses were shattered and cars were burnt.

Liberty

Perhaps we need to live our life just like kids. Less thinking, less fear. Just enjoy our moment.

NYC...piece of cake

When I was going to travel to Baltimore by myself, I was a bit worried. To go there, I had to go to NYC before taking a train to Baltimore. Woof, NYC...yikes how can I ever survive in that huge city even though I would only be there for 3 hours. But Tiara comforted me that I should be okay, knowing that I grew up in Jakarta. "NYC = Jakarta", she said. I didn't believe her. Come on, I saw in the movies about NYC and it seemed like a "jungle" city (minus Tarzan).

Well after having a 25 hour flight to NYC, I only had 3 hours before the train took me to Baltimore. JFK airport was packed with people and the immigration queue was quite long, plus the flight arrived late, so I was nervous as to whether I would eventually get the train. After “escaping” from the immigration, I needed to go to Penn station by bus. Unfortunately, the bus only took me to Grand Central Station. So I needed to get a taxi. At Grand Central station, it was hard to get a taxi because it was rush hour and they didn’t want to take me to Penn station. My instinct said I needed to go the other street, hoping that it would be easier to get a taxi. And I was right! This was the first time I felt lucky that I grew up in Jakarta. Okay so, it was 5.30 pm and the train would leave at 6.15 so I only had 45 minutes. With traffic jam everywhere will I ever make it? Finally, Penn station. The time was 6.10. Crap...where should I go from here? For me, Penn station was huge and I was confused. Not sure why, people there didn’t help me much when I asked where I should go. But anyway, I found the lane...and it was 6.19. Ahh...okay well, I’m definitely late now. But then I saw the board and it said that the train was delayed. Pheww...

So I guess, Tiara was right, NYC = Jakarta....piece of cake then

Gothic and Flower

Flower is always beautiful . It could give tenderness before a gothic architecture.

Sunrise in Borobudur

I had a nice feeling when I climbed up to the top of Borobudur temple to see the sunrise. The air was fresh and not many people around (knowing that you have to get up at 4 am to go there). I could imagine the situation around Borobudur 1200 years ago when Sailendra dynasti built it. Must be very peaceful.

Inside the gothic

Fiuh.....at least interior design of gothic church, still express peacefulness, and coolness to say hello to our Creator.

New found joy

If only 11 years ago I knew how photography could be so exciting, I wouldn't choose my current job (ha). But oh well. At least this blog can divert my mind whenever I feel stuck.

Musée des beaux arts - TOURS

An archbishop was here ;p , now you only can meet a lot of antique paintings from XVIII centuries.

It's always nice to walk around this palace, refresh your mind by reading your favourite book under the tree. Enjoying the fresh air with sunshine cuddle.
